70 Years of Swiss-Indian Friendship

The Swiss diplomatic network in India are celebrating 70 years of Swiss-Indian Friendship. The biennial initiative ’70 Years of Swiss-Indian Friendship: Connecting Minds – Inspiring the Future’ (SIF70) commemorates the anniversary of the Swiss-Indian Treaty of Friendship, which was signed in New Delhi on August 14, 1948.

With this initiative, the Swiss diplomatic network in India is connecting Swiss and Indian minds that are actively shaping the future of both countries. The focus lies on creating opportunities for innovation in business, research and technology, but also in the fields of governance, art or social inclusion. Events and activities will take place in various cities across India to showcase this important landmark until the end of 2018.

swissnex is utilising this platform to connect Swiss and Indian science communication experts through a conference titled ScienceComm’18 India at National Centre for Biological Sciences, Bangalore. The conference aims to introduce alternate, entertaining methods of communicating scientific content to the public. Read more about ScienceComm’18 India.

In the backdrop of the SIF 70 initiative, we also are inviting members of the Swiss making and hardware prototyping community to explore the makerspaces and the making culture in India. The one week intensive program will enable Swiss startups to evaluate manufacturing opportunities and partnerships in the country. Know more about Maker Week 2018.
