Space Inno eveSmart cities
Swiss Space Innovation Evening

The Swiss Space Innovation Evening showcased
Switzerland’s excellence in space research and
technologies. A Swiss delegation, comprising space
startups, researchers and entrepreneurs, presented
their work to members of India's space industry.
Swiss Projects on Smart Cities

swissnex India and swissuniversities hosted a
networking session on Swiss projects on Smart Cities. Short presentations were made by the visiting
delegates from Swiss Universities of Applied Sciences and Arts on their respective projects.
Gaming Tour India 2016

The latest and the most exciting games from
Switzerland were presented to game lovers and
potential investors in Bangalore in November 2016.
The games were well received and appreciated by the gaming community in India.
GotthardoAITDealing with risk
Opening of Gotthard Tunnel

The opening of Gotthard Base Tunnel (Gotthardo), in
Switzerland, was celebrated on 2 June 2016 in India,
with keynote speeches, panel discussion and Q&A
session with renowned Indian and Swiss experts.
Academia-Industry Training India (AIT)

The Academia-Industry Training India (AIT) supported scientists in transforming their high-level applied
research into market application and discovering their entrepreneurial potential.
Dealing with Risk

Prof. Solange Ghernaouti, internationally recognized
ICT Risk management expert , talked about building
cyber competencies to master risks in a hyper
connected world as part of a risk lecture series.

2015

EMLiftRobo
Enable Makeathon

At the ‘Enable Makeathon’, Swiss engineering, design,
robotics, mechatronics and other associated fields
experts mentored the selected participants to develop
affordable assistive devices for persons with
disabilities living in rural areas.
Lift India

Lift India was a one day conference with inspiring
speeches, interactive workshops, Swiss Innovation
Night cocktail featuring top Swiss startups, an
exhibition of interactive media projects and discovery
tour of Bangalore and Mumbai's innovative hubs.
Robo-revolution

A workshop to build smart collaborative robots was
organized where participants learnt how to build their own robot and state-of-the-art localisation and
perception algorithms to give it a mind of its own,
facilitated by ETH Zurich researchers.

BirdlyLingaQuantum
Birdly in India

Birdly, an amazing invention conceived at Interaction
Design Centre, Zurich University of the Arts, was on
display at swissnex India, Rangoli Metro Art Centre
and IIT Madras. Birdly generated a great deal of
excitement among the public and the media in India.
Re-mapping the Body

Compagnie Linga, a Swiss contemporary dance
company, presented a unique program in Bangalore,
combining art and technology, where the impulses of
the muscular activity are transformed into sound by
an interactive system.
QUANTUM – dance performance in Bangalore

QUANTUM, an innovative dance performance by Gilles Jobin, inspired by science, during his residency at
CERN, was organized in Bangalore. A discussion on
physics and current research at CERN was organized
with Indian and Swiss physicists and the audience.

2014

TedxBISFFIQQRM
TEDx Bangalore: Showcasing Swiss Excellence

swissnex India was the ‘Swiss Innovation Partner’ at
TEDxBangalore. We supported Jon Mark Walls, a
visionary entrepreneur from Switzerland, and an
innovative Swiss startup, dizmo to participate at
TEDxBangalore with nearly 1500 guests.
Swiss Student Films at Bangalore International Short
Film Festival


Six selected short films by students of Zurich
University of the Arts and Lucerne School of Art &
Design, were showcased at the Bangalore International Short Film Festival 2014 (BISFF).
Integrating Qualitative and Quantitative Research
Methods


The workshop aimed at researchers, young faculty and post graduate students conducting health research,
was organized by NIMHANS, Swiss Tropical & Public
Health Institute, Switzerland and swissnex India.

2013

GamingSP3D Printing
When swissnex turned into a gaming mecca

Gaming Jam hosted Swiss & Indian game enthusiasts who collaborated and produced highly innovative
non-digital game prototypes. This was followed by an
exhibition of games developed at Geneva University
of Art & Design and Zurich University of the Arts.
Shaping the Urban Future lecture series

swissnex India and Indian Institute for Human
Settlements (IIHS) organized lecture series by Swiss
architecture, social geography, urban sociology and
environmental science experts on global urbanisation
process challenges and its implications for India.
Spotlight on 3D printing

A panel discussion and workshop on sustainable 3D
printing was conducted in Bangalore. The discussions
gave insights into the sustainability and ethical issues of 3D printing for the industry, its private use,
biomaterial printing and use in the medical scenario.

2012

Rock the Sun

‘Rock the Sun’ concert, a United Nations Foundation
endorsed project was brought to India to form a link
between sustainable development & culture, & draw
attention to energy-related environmental issues.
Lecture-performance ‘Act Like You Mean It’

‘Act Like You Mean It’ team, consisting of two Swiss
researchers, presented a five-act lecture-performance,
to explore whether the brain of the actors in a play
express genuine or just emotion.
Inter-regional School of Neuroscience, Hyderabad

Two speakers from EPFL, Dr. Pierre Magistratti and Dr. Davor Pavuna, participated in the inaugural session of
the Inter-regional School on Computational and
Theoretical Neuroscience in Hyderabad.
