Researchers in Switzerland and South-Asia have been working together on a wide range of research projects on environmental sustainability and social wellbeing. These projects generate scientific and contextual knowledge that can be utilized for the betterment of society. It it is imperative that the knowledge is made accessible to a wide and diverse array of actors that promote the sustainable development goals (SDGs). Knowledge2Action aims at bridging the gap between scientific research and the potential users and implementers of the knowledge, namely: policymakers, activists, journalists, educators and community workers. We focus not only on conventional forms of knowledge dissemination, but also on dialogue, imparting particular skills and collective learning across professions.

Knowledge2Action in South Asia

The project ‘Knowledge2Action in South Asia’ aims to be a platform to bring together researchers and SDG actors, promote knowledge generated from ongoing projects and facilitate future cooperation in research and education on environmental sustainability and social wellbeing (ES&SW) between Switzerland & South-Asia. The project is funded by the swissuniversities Development and Cooperation Network (SUDAC) programme.

Knowledge2Action project includes pre-existing collaborations in ES&SW between renowned knowledge institutions in Switzerland and South Asia and covers (for now) the countries: India, Myanmar, Nepal and Sri Lanka.

For more information, one can reach out to project leads, Prof. Dr. Swetha Rao Dhananka, Haute Ecole de Travail Social Fribourg – HES-SO and Prof. Dr. René Véron, University of Lausanne.
