Manager, Startup Partnerships

swissnex India, the Consulate General of Switzerland in Bangalore connects Switzerland and India in the fields of science, education, and innovation. Our mission is to support the outreach and active engagement of our partners in the global exchange of knowledge, ideas and talent. By crossing conventional boundaries, swissnex offers a platform to foster collaboration and creativity for inspiring research and ground-breaking innovation. swissnex India – Consulate General of Switzerland is an initiative of the Swiss State Secretariat for Education and Research and Innovation (SERI) in collaboration with the Swiss Federal Department of Foreign Affairs.

Your chance to individually catalyse world class, Swiss deeptech startups in India, and architect an Indo- Swiss investors ecosystem. 

Duration:  12 months (start in January 2020), extension possible.


  • Project Management and administration
    • Build the deeptech thematic focus at swissnex India
    • Planning and execution of projects in collaboration with internal teams and external stakeholders
    • Anchor in-house and external platforms (e.g. targeted B2B, workshops, focus groups etc) for innovation mandates and accompany delegations
    • Assist head of department in administrative tasks
  •  Business Development and Key Account Management
    • To identify and engage with Swiss startups, based both in India and Switzerland in deeptech (AI, ML, Blockchain, Fintech, Robotics, Digital Aviation, etc)
    • Execute strategic account management and follow-ups with startups that have been coached
    • Proactive outreach for identifying, and recruiting Swiss startups
    • Manage communication between partners, sponsors, and other project partners
  • Networking and outreach
    • Attend startup related events, conferences, meetings in Bangalore
    • Conduct research on specific themes of relevance to Swiss start-ups and/or corporate innovation mandates
  • Communications and internal collaboration
    • Prepare and manage content such as CRM, blogs and newsletter inputs
    • Manage communication between partners, sponsors, and other project partners

Requirements and profile

  • Indian citizen or legal resident of India
  • 3-5 years of work experience in new business development / strategic account management
  •  Academic background in engineering (or experience in Robotics / Analytics / ICT / Wireless/ Investor relations)
  • Ability to multi-task and flexible for occasional evening or weekend assignments (no more than 15 days / year)
  • Team player + the ability to work unsupervised

Would be a plus:

  • Proven record in startup environment working with innovations
  • Exposure to European working environment
