Information on Research in Switzerland
Information Platforms on Swiss Research
|The National Centres of Competence in Research (NCCRs) are institutionally
supported research projects of nation-wide importance. The Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF) is responsible for conducting NCCRs on behalf of the Swiss
government. These projects have a particular emphasis on interdisciplinary and
innovative approaches within the disciplines. Each NCCR consists of a centre of
competence (‘leading house’) and a network of partners from the university or extra-university spheres.
|Mandated by the Swiss federal government, the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF) is Switzerland’s leading provider of scientific research funding.|
|Euraxess Switzerland is the new Researcher’s Mobility Portal providing researchers with jobs in Universities, Federal Institutes of Technology and Universities of
Applied Sciences, information about entry rules, working conditions, research in
Switzerland and hints for families.
|myScience.ch provides an overview of Swiss research and supports researchers by providing information about employment and funding opportunities.|

|EAWAG develops solutions to environmental problems. It transmits the acquired
knowledge and know-how nationally and internationally by publications, lectures,
teaching and consulting to the private and public sector.
|EMPA is the ETH domain’s institution for multidisciplinary research into sustainable materials and systems engineering. As an independent, neutral research institution, EMPA solves selected tasks and problems of a scientific and technical nature within
its sphere of activities.
|Students, researchers, architects, entrepreneurs, technical and administrative staff, interact daily to explore and encourage the emergence of new scientific fields. With 80 nationalities represented on its campus and 50% of its teaching staff originating from abroad, the EPFL has a truly international vocation.|
