swissnex India is supporting a collaboration between India and Switzerland in the field of landslide science. The workshop will be conducted by Dr Perry Bartelt and Dr Yves Bühler from WSL Institute for Snow and Avalanche Research SLF (part of the ETH domain) on 4th February 2015.

Workshop details

Rockfalls, debris flows and landslides are dangerous natural hazards that threaten mountain roadways and settlements. Hazard mapping and the planning of mitigation measures increasingly rely on the application of modern simulation technology. The purpose of this workshop is to introduce geo-hazard professionals with new simulation models for rockfall and landslide analysis. The models are applied to real case studies and allow scenario-based risk analysis. The workshop will facilitate an exchange between Swiss and Indian experts in the field of geo hazards.
