The Indo-Swiss Workshop on Medical Devices Development aims to bring together biomedical, engineering and technology professionals and industry, exchange ideas and collectively put forward major projects to Indian and international funding agencies. The workshop will identify the skill sets and facilities in the participating institutions and explore complementing these in major projects.

Pr. Enrico Staderini is a Professor at the Haute École d'Ingénierie et de Gestion de l'État de Vaud (HEIG-VD), Western Switzerland University of Applied Sciences, in Yverdon-les-Bains, Switzerland. His main research interests focus on neurophysiology instrumentation, sport technologies, cognitive science, UWB medical radars, rehabilitation engineering, biomedical electronics and assistive devices for the elderly and the disabled. He published more than fifty peer-reviewed scientific papers and directed important research projects.

Dr. V S Venkatesan is a Professor of Biomedical Engineering and TMA Pai Chair in Medical Devices at Manipal University, and is currently focusing on affordable medical devices development and commercialisation. Educated in India and Canada, his expertise covers X Rays, Medical Instrumentation, Clinical Engineering and Artificial Organs including Extracorporeal Devices and Implants. He has worked in reputed institutions both in India and Australia developing Class I to Class III medical devices and has international experience.
