A country with a growing population such as India will have to deal with the challenge of cultivating crops in a sustainable manner to meet its food requirements. How would a rapidly urbanizing India with limited cultivation space and depleting water resources face such a challenge?
By being innovative about WHERE we grow food, HOW we bring it to the table and WHAT we eat!
swissnex India is looking for entrepreneurs, engineers, farmers, agriculturists, designers, artists, developers, students, academicians or anyone with innovative sustainable ideas that could provide a solution by ‘Imagining the Future of Food in Urban Settings’.
Lift India Ideation workshop will explore 3 themes that address the WHERE, HOW and WHAT of food
• Innovative food production
• Food safety and traceability
• Low environmental impact agriculture
You can attend as a team of 4 or as an individual, and we will help you form teams. The workshop is designed to encourage exchange of ideas and collaboration.
We welcome ideas at any stage of innovation – a concrete idea, a prototype, piloting your solution or looking to spin off your existing product to address future settings.
During the workshop, experts shall introduce and contextualize the three topics and support the participants by highlighting key challenges that are relevant to the local environment. We have industry experts from Buhler India and Nestle R&D Center India who will not only provide this context but also walk us through their innovations for the future. We will also have an entrepreneur to stimulate the debate on sustainability. These experts will be available for the duration of the workshop to provide feedback to each team.
The team with the most impactful and viable solution will be invited to Geneva to take their idea to the next level at the Lift Prototyping Lab 2017.
