On 1 June 2016, Gotthard Base Tunnel (Gotthardo), the world’s longest railway tunnel with a total length of 57.1 km, will officially open in Switzerland. The Gotthard rail tunnel is expected to revolutionise and improve transport across Europe. To celebrate the momentous occasion, Switzerland will invite guests of honour from Switzerland and abroad to the opening event.
Under the Year of Swiss Innovation (YOSI), the Swiss representation in India will take the opportunity of this opening to showcase innovations in engineering and environmental friendly transports. On 2 June 2016, swissnex India will host keynote speeches by renowned Indian and Swiss experts followed by a panel discussion and Q&A session on the topic. Each panelist will talk about their organization and its association with projects similar to the Gotthard Tunnel. A short film on Gotthard will also be screened. We look forward to having you with us to celebrate this amazing innovation.
