Fragments of Switzerland is an interactive installation based on the concept of a virtual stage with visual and acoustic stimuli. Upon entering the room where it is displayed, the visitor is confronted with different scenarios composed of live imagery from places all over Switzerland. These images are projected on a fragmented screen hanging from the ceiling, which aims to change the perception of space as time lapses – from day to night. Besides the actual time and weather conditions, the visitor can change the position in the space, exploring new perspectives, and at the same time affect the way the images are presented: busy movements will cause distortions, while slow movements will reveal the true image.
