His current research at EPFL focuses on dye-sensitized solar cells, perovskite solar cells, CO2 reduction, hydrogen production, and light-emitting diodes.

Kumar Varoon Agrawal is GAZNAT Chair of Advanced Separations and a tenure-track Assistant Professor at the Institute of Chemical Sciences and Engineering (ISIC). At EPFL, Kumar’s group is developing novel synthetic routes for two-dimensional (2-d) nanoporous materials and their films with a precise control of nanopore size and functionality.

Dr. Walawalkar leads the Emerging Technologies practice for Customized Energy Solutions globally with focus on energy storage, renewables, demand response and smart grid technologies as well as international markets. He is also Founder & President for India Energy Storage Alliance (IESA). He served as member of the Board of Directors of Energy Storage Association (ESA) in US during 2009-15 and was elected as Secretory in 2013. He was elected as Vice Chair for Global Energy Storage Alliance (GESA) in 2014.

Dr. Zhou was supported by the excellence scholarship program of the Swiss government, and was at the Federal Institute of technology in Lausanne (EPFL), Switzerland as a Senior visiting scholar. His research is mainly engaged in electricity market operation, power trading policy and mechanism, market transaction, risk assessment & prevention, economic operation of distribution network, renewable energy access & energy conservation and emission reduction policy.

Ms Min focuses on renewable energy policy research, energy consumption and GHG emission analysis at both national and sub national level. She has been deeply involved in the study on distributed renewable energy road map in Yangtze River Delta Region, research on corporate renewable energy procurement mechanism etc. Before joining WRI, Min had been working for Energy Research Institution of NDRC for nearly 4 years, mainly focused on energy and climate change related policy research.
